In this Irving sample, a few large outdoor projects sit alongside much smaller visits. I want to show you both. That way a deck rebuild will not become your budget for a loose towel bar.
What these jobs cost
Ten of the 15 Irving jobs were under $500. Yet the average was $1,221.32, well above the $333 median. Larger exterior projects explain much of that gap.

What the $6,970 deck project included
The largest job began with removing old deck boards and a wood railing. It included new layers over the existing frame, composite decking and a cable railing system.
The notes listed 90 square feet of deck work and 30 feet of railing. The materials line was $2,420. Dividing the full total by the deck area would roll removal, railing and other work into a single number.
For deck work, show us the surface and the frame below it. Say whether you want the railing changed too. Those choices belong in the scope before we talk about a unit price.
Small mounting jobs can include carpentry and paint
At $333, the towel-bar job included making and mounting a pine support board. We then fitted the customer’s towel bar and painted the board with paint they supplied.
That is more work than fastening a bar directly to an existing wall. When you describe a loose fixture, include a photo of the mounting holes. A wider view helps us see whether a support board would suit the space. Tell us if you already have the replacement bar and matching paint.
A finished trim repair includes more than new wood
The $656.50 baseboard job included taking off damaged trim, preparing the wall and fitting new baseboard. Priming and painting were also listed.
The $5,820 exterior project was broader still. Along with painted soffit, fascia and trim repairs, it included fan and gate work. For exterior trim repair, list the parts of the house you want checked. A quote should make clear which surfaces will be repaired and which will be painted.

We reviewed 15 completed Irving jobs from Smart Fix records saved on September 20, 2026. Each job total matches its invoice or invoices. Each job counts once, including jobs with several tasks. Prices include parts and tax charged, after any credits or discounts.
