See all 37 job pricesI’m Chance O’Shel, owner of The Smart Fix Handyman. This guide uses 37 door repair jobs our team finished in 21 cities across Dallas-Fort Worth and Houston between February and October 2026, with the price of each. Our door repair page shows the work we take on.
Most of these jobs fixed a door that stuck, sagged or wouldn’t latch. Twenty-two of the 37 cost less than $250. The higher prices came from rebuilt jambs, door closers and doors that had to be rehung. A new door is a different job, so door replacements aren’t in these prices.

Rehanging a door took longer. A pocket door rehang in Spring cost $489.25, because we took off the trim to reach the pocket and put it back. A back door rehung on new hinges cost $546.50. That total included a $125 first-year membership and a member discount.
Do door repairs cost less in Houston?

- Damaged wood at the latch. The five jamb repairs ran from $280 to $464.
- A door closer. Closer work ran from $187.05 to $762.
- How many doors need work. One $140 visit adjusted a front door and a garage-entry door.

Questions about DFW and Houston door repair prices
About these prices
This guide uses 37 completed jobs from Smart Fix job and invoice records, pulled on October 20, 2026. Each price is the full job total from its invoices, including parts and tax we charged, after discounts and credits. A visit with several tasks counts as one job. We left out assessment-only visits and any job whose total did not match its invoices.
The median is the middle price once all 37 are sorted, so one large project cannot pull it up the way it pulls up the average. Dates use the day work started. Cities follow the job address. Customer details stay private. These are past prices for real jobs, not a quote.
