Handyman costs in Plano: prices from real local jobs

By

Owner & Operations Manager

I’m Chance O’Shel, owner of The Smart Fix Handyman. We serve Plano, and I put this guide together from a sample of our local work.

The Plano sample runs from a functional cupboard fix to a long repair list. Most jobs were below $500. The larger prices often included finish work or several tasks, so I have pulled out those details below.

What these jobs cost

Fourteen of the 21 Plano jobs were below $500. Five reached $1,000 or more. The table includes every price in the sample, grouped by total.

Whole-job price Jobs in this sample
Under $250 11
$250 to under $500 3
$500 to under $1,000 2
$1,000 and up 5

These five examples show how much the work varied.

Work included Smart Fix job price
Making a cupboard work again; cosmetic finish excluded $136
Loose tile, grout and caulk work in two bathrooms $547
Closing five plumber access holes with texture and paint $1,325

Exterior trim repair plus shower, window, door and light tasks $1,999.75

Smart Fix Plano handyman prices: 21 jobs from $136 to $1,999.75, with a $212.80 median.

Smart Fix, 21 jobs, February 10 to September 11, 2026. The chart includes the whole price of each job.

A working cupboard and a painted wall are different finish points

The $136 cupboard job aimed to restore its use. The scope left out cosmetic finish work. That matters if you want both a working door and a surface that looks new.

At $1,325, another job closed five holes left for plumbing access. It included two smaller holes and three larger ones, followed by texture, primer and paint. The wall finish was part of the work.

For cabinet repair, describe what is broken and any visible damage you want fixed. For drywall repair, ask the quote to state the paint area and who supplies the paint. A patched hole and a finished wall can mean different amounts of work.

Supplying the fixtures still leaves installation work

The $1,545 job used customer-supplied mirrors and lights. It covered two mirrors plus several types of lights, including vanity and shop lights. Wall patching and shower caulk were also in the same scope.

Buying the fixtures did not complete the project. They still needed to be fitted, and the other repair tasks still needed time.

When you ask about light fixture installation, list the fixtures and their locations. Add any wall repairs you want after the old fittings come down. That gives us a clearer starting point than a request to “install lights.”

The highest total was a list of repairs

The $1,999.75 job included garage and chimney trim repair. It also covered a new showerhead and caulk at five outside windows plus two inside window joints. Weatherstrip at two storm doors was included. Replacing six recessed bulbs was part of the same visit.

The customer supplied the storm door weatherstrip. Smart Fix supplied the showerhead. Those details help define what the total bought.

If your main problem is a door that sticks or will not latch, the Plano door repair price guide looks more closely at that work. This city sample includes those smaller jobs alongside larger lists of repairs.

About these prices

We reviewed 21 completed Plano jobs from Smart Fix records saved on September 20, 2026. Each job total matches its invoice or invoices. Each job counts once, including jobs with several tasks. Prices include parts and tax charged, after any credits or discounts.

The median is the middle price after sorting. Dates use work-start records, with scheduled dates used where a work start was missing. Cities follow the job address records. Customer details stay private. These past prices describe our sample; new work needs its own quote.
