What did the smaller repairs cover?
The $182 job was a loose interior door lever. We checked the lever, secured its hardware and tested it. The $195 job dealt with a sagging door: hinge adjustment, alignment and small supplies.
Those two prices are close, but the work was different. Tell us whether the handle is loose, the door rubs the frame, or the latch misses the strike plate. That helps us understand the problem before we quote it.
Why was the largest job $460?
It covered several doors. The scope included hinge work, a sliding-door stop, a supplied bedroom privacy lock and exterior door seals. It was not a $460 charge to tighten one hinge.
The $335 job was different again. It included drilling the door and frame for a new deadbolt, plus the lock. Compare that with the $182 lever repair, which kept the existing door hardware in use where possible. The part and the work both affect the quote.
Does this tell me what a replacement door costs?
A separate Dallas job cost $655 to replace and paint the bedroom door itself. That job sits outside this repair sample. Fitting a new door and painting it adds work beyond an adjustment. Larger visits that mixed door work with other repairs are also outside these four prices.
