I’m Chance O’Shel, owner of Smart Fix. We serve Frisco, and I pulled these four jobs together to show what a trim or soffit price includes. A small patch beneath the roof edge needs a different plan from changing vents across the house.
What the four projects cost
Three of the four jobs cost less than $500. Each price stays with its full scope in the table.

A soffit patch and a vent change do different work
The soffit is the surface beneath the roof overhang. The $414 job replaced a damaged 12-inch section, added matching paint and fitted a metal screen over the repair. The screen was part of the work to protect that spot from animals.
The $1,087 job enlarged seven existing vent openings at the second story. It included fitting larger vents, ladder setup, cutting, fastening, light sealing and cleanup.
For exterior trim work, show us the roof edge from the ground. Point out the damaged panel or the vents you want changed, and tell us which story needs work.
New wood and a painted finish belonged in the quote
The $258 job replaced one rotted trim board at a garage door. The work included caulk at the edges, primer on raw cuts and a finish coat using paint supplied by the customer. The price included $48 in materials.
The $304.50 job repaired the lower part of an interior door jamb. The door still worked, so the scope focused on damaged wood and paint to match the inside finish. It did not call for a new door.
If you want a similar trim repair, say whether the damage is in the trim or the door frame. Ask where the work ends: new wood, primer or a painted surface. If you have matching paint, include that detail.

The $359.25 median falls between the jamb repair and the soffit patch. It describes this four-job sample. Your own quote needs the damaged area, access and finish you want, plus any new parts.
About these prices
We reviewed four completed jobs in Smart Fix records on September 20, 2026. We counted each job once and checked its total against issued invoices. Prices include charged parts and tax, after any credits or discounts. Items the customer supplied are outside these totals.
The median is the average of the two middle prices after sorting. Dates refer to recorded work starts. These are past Smart Fix projects, not a survey of all local firms. Customer details stay private.
