Handyman costs in Rowlett: prices from real local jobs

By

Owner & Operations Manager

I’m Chance O’Shel, owner of The Smart Fix Handyman. We serve Rowlett. These ten jobs show the gap between a short visit and repairs across several parts of a home. I want you to see what sits behind the price before using it to plan your own work.

How the ten prices were spread

Six jobs were under $500. Three reached $1,000 or more. The $354.20 median sits between the two middle prices; it does not describe every repair on this list.

Whole-job price Jobs in this sample

Prices for 10 Smart Fix Rowlett jobs, from $140 to $3,595.25; median $354.20.

Smart Fix records: 10 jobs, March 7 to August 28, 2026. Prices cover the whole job.

These five examples show different scopes within the sample.

Work recorded Smart Fix job price
Short hourly visit; tasks not specified $140.00
Ceiling fan installation work $310.80
Shower control replacement and wall access repair $522.50
Two gate or panel bases re-anchored $1,074.25
Upper-story siding, window sealing and interior wall repair $3,595.25

What was inside the $3,595.25 project?

The largest job combined work outside and inside. It included damaged siding and trim on an upper story, with ladder access. Window edges needed fresh sealant. Inside, damaged wall strips around a window needed replacement, texture and paint.

That total cannot tell you a siding-only price. It also shows why photos from both sides of a damaged area can help define the work. When you request siding repair, show the height and any damage indoors as well.

What happens to the wall after access work?

The $522.50 job used a shower valve supplied by the customer. The work also included cutting a wall opening and closing it with backing and drywall. The patch was smoothed and primed, ready for paint.

Ask who handles that last finish step. Buying a replacement part does not cover the work needed to reach it or restore the wall. Our drywall repair page explains the repair work to include in that discussion.

Is a gate repair just a latch change?

The $1,074.25 job involved failed anchors at two metal bases. The scope called for removing the old bolts, drilling new attachment points and securing the bases again. That is different work from adjusting a latch.

For a gate or fence repair, show what moves when you open it. A wide view and a close view of the loose part help us ask the right questions.
