The attic job included the opening and the finish
The $1,773 attic job called for a change to the wood-framed opening. It needed to be resized and braced. The work also included a new metal access door, trim, and paint on the trim and repaired ceiling edge. It included $523 in materials.
That whole price should not be used as the cost to swap an attic door into an opening that already fits. Four steps were priced here: frame work, fitting the door, trim and paint. The state of your opening helps define which of those steps you need.
The $262.50 exterior door job used a prehung unit supplied by the customer. The scope included taking out the old door and frame. The new unit was shimmed and secured, with casing fitted inside and out. Buying the new door was outside that total.
The porch price covered an addition to the frame
The $966 porch job added about 4 by 6 feet to a raised wood porch. It also added about 6 feet of railing on one side. Materials accounted for $216 of the total.
It added space to an existing porch. It was not a price for a whole new deck. If you want more usable space, tell us whether you plan to keep the existing frame, alter it or replace it. That changes the work we need to inspect.
A bundled price needs its full task list
The $378 job combined clearing accessible gutter debris with reinstalling and sealing a customer-supplied gable vent. The gutter work was on a one-story home. Existing guards stayed in place where the debris could be cleared without removing them.
That total cannot serve as a gutter-cleaning-only price. Ask for the task list in each quote. Check whether guards need to come off and whether it includes a vent repair.
The $175 blinds job was simpler to define: three supplied blinds, with brackets, hanging and adjustment. For blinds installation, tell us the number of windows and whether you have the units.
