Handyman costs in Humble: prices from real local jobs

By

Owner & Operations Manager

I’m Chance O’Shel with Smart Fix. We serve Humble, and I chose these records to make repair prices easier to compare. The finish line matters: a wood repair left primed is not the same scope as one painted to match.

Prices across eight Humble jobs

Seven of the eight jobs cost less than $500. The median was $219.38. These prices cover different kinds of work. The median gives some context, but each repair needs its own quote.

Here is every job in the sample. Two hourly visits have no recorded task detail, so their labels stay broad.

Job scope Job price
Hourly handyman visit; tasks not recorded $125.00
Separate hourly handyman visit; tasks not recorded $125.00
Re-secure closet rod brackets and reinstall the rod $140.00
Re-secure a drape rod, hang one drape and adjust a door $184.00
Install a customer-supplied disposal and clear the sink drain $254.75
Repair lower door jamb sections and replace trim on one side $383.00
Replace, seal and paint one garage door jamb $411.00
Replace a drywall patch, match texture, prime and paint $656.25

Prices for 8 Smart Fix Humble jobs, from $125 to $656.25; median $219.38.

Smart Fix records: 8 jobs, April 27 to July 13, 2026. Prices cover the whole job.

Check where a wood repair ends

The $383 door job called for new wood at the base of both jambs. It included removal of the rot, treatment of nearby wood, new pieces and caulk. It also included new trim on one side and primer on the new wood.

The $411 garage job covered one damaged jamb. It included new wood, sealed joints and paint to match the trim.

These were different repairs, so their prices do not show the extra cost of adding paint. They do show two different finish levels. When you request door repair, ask whether the price ends with primed wood or a painted surface.

A small drywall patch can include several steps

The largest job in this sample was a $656.25 drywall repair. Work was to begin once the leak area had dried. The damaged section near the floor needed a 2-by-3-foot patch. The scope also included light orange-peel texture, primer and paint. The customer supplied the materials.

That is more than attaching a piece of drywall. It includes the work to blend the repair into the room. It does not establish a six-square-foot price for all drywall repairs, or a cost to fix the source of a leak.

Supplied parts still need fitting and testing

The $254.75 disposal job used a customer-supplied unit and the existing mounting ring. The work covered removal of the old unit and fitting the new one. It included the drain and wiring connections, drain clearing and a test.

The total included $15 in small supplies. It did not include buying the disposal itself. If you’ve bought a new unit, tell us the model. Let us know whether the old one is still in place. That gives us a better basis for a quote.

About these prices

We analyzed 8 completed jobs from Smart Fix records reviewed on September 20, 2026. We matched each job total to its invoices and counted each job once.

Prices include the parts and tax charged, after any credits or discounts. The median averages the two middle prices after sorting. Dates refer to recorded work starts. City names follow the job records. Customer details stay private.
