These four examples are small jobs, but they needed different skills and parts. Two involved doors, one filled a gap in a floor, and one involved a heavy picture. Their details are more helpful than a single handyman rate.
What these jobs cost
All four prices were below $350. They covered focused repairs and installs, rather than a full room renovation. Here’s every job in the sample.

The $230 median sits between the picture-hanging job and the small floor repair. It doesn’t describe a particular service, so start with the row closest to your task.
Does the door need adjustment or wood repair?
The $140 door job used the existing hinges and hardware. The work was to adjust the door so it opened and closed properly.
The $341.60 entry-door job involved damaged wood around the latch. We removed loose wood, rebuilt that local area and secured the strike. The price was $201.60 higher, but it covered a different repair. It doesn’t show what all damaged door frames will cost.
When you ask about door repair, show us the latch side and the hinges. Let us know whether the door rubs, the latch misses its plate, or the wood has split. Those details help us tell an adjustment from a repair to the frame.
The floor price covered an opening already cut
The $285 flooring job fitted customer-supplied vinyl planks into an opening that was already cut. The price included $280 in labor and $5 for adhesive.
That gives you a useful example of a small floor repair. It leaves out buying a room’s worth of flooring. For your quote, send the gap’s size and say whether you have matching planks. Include a photo of the floor edge so we can see what needs to fit.
A large picture needs more detail than its width
The $175 hanging job involved one picture weighing about 45 pounds. The customer supplied its hanging hardware, and the job included fasteners.
For art hanging, share the weight as well as the size. A photo of the back shows how the piece is meant to hang. This one price covers one setup; a gallery wall needs its own item list.
