Slab or prehung: Which are you asking for?
A slab is the door panel. A prehung unit includes a door fitted into a frame. Reusing an existing frame requires checking its condition and whether the new slab can be fitted to it.
JELD-WEN’s door anatomy guidance distinguishes the slab from the frame, including the head, jamb, and sill. Those parts should be clear in a quote.
If the frame is sound and the fit is suitable, replacing only the slab may be worth discussing. If the frame is rotted, distorted, or incompatible, the work can be much broader.

Avoid ordering from a casual measurement of the visible panel. The slab, frame, and rough opening have different dimensions. Have the installer verify the order size and handing first.
Sometimes the door needs a repair

That example doesn’t diagnose your door, but it gives you a useful first question: can the cause be corrected while keeping the existing unit?
